Wearfit Pro Watch Faces: Free Dials, Photo Faces and Wallpapers

1. Open Wearfit Pro and check the watch shows as connected at the top of the device tab.
2. Tap the dial or watch-face entry. On the AOC Z17 its maker describes the dial collection as sitting at the bottom of the app page.
3. Browse by style: analogue, digital, sporty, cartoon, minimal.
4. Tap a face, then install or sync it. A progress bar runs while the file travels over Bluetooth.
5. Leave the app open, phone within arm's reach, until the new face appears on the watch.

Free Wearfit Pro watch faces on iOS come from the same library as on Android. An iPhone owner needs no separate download or third-party face store. The app itself is the face maker, the gallery and the installer.

Most Wearfit Pro watches also carry a handful of built-in faces. Press and hold the current face on the watch to cycle through them without the phone. That makes a quick outfit change easy when you step from the desk to a dinner table.

1. In the dial section, open the custom or photo option.
2. Allow the app access to your photos when the phone asks.
3. Choose a picture and crop it to the frame the app shows, circle or rectangle.
4. Pick where the time sits and its colour, so the digits stay readable.
5. Sync it, and wait for the watch to show the new wallpaper.

Photos that work on a small screen

• One clear subject, filling the middle of the frame.
• Plain backgrounds: sky, sand, a wall.
• Faces and pets looking toward the camera.
• Darker photos, which keep white digits sharp.
• No text inside the photo; it turns to mush at wrist size.

Crop a little wider than feels natural on a round watch, because the circle trims the corners. On the square E07, a portrait-shaped phone photo fits almost as it is. Save two or three versions of a favourite picture with the clock in different places, then keep the one that reads best at a glance.

• Analogue hands with a simple index: the most convincing look with a shirt cuff.
• Chronograph-style sub-dials: steps, heart rate and battery set in small circles.
• Ring layouts: activity arcs that follow the edge of the glass.
• Photo faces cropped to a circle: portraits and pets suit the shape.

The finish of the case changes which dials look right. Rose gold flatters cream, blush and soft gold faces. Black or gray cases take anything, and they make bright colours look sharper against the dark bezel.

The Z17 has one more styling trick: a 20mm strap width. Any 20mm quick-release band clips on, so the face and strap can change together, a leather-look band with an analogue dial for work and a silicone band with a sporty face for the gym. Keep round dials uncluttered. Text laid on the edges of a circle gets clipped, so a centred time with one or two small readings looks cleaner than a face packed with numbers. If a library dial looks crowded at wrist distance, the next one in the same style is only a tap away.

A square screen suits information. Digital time, date, steps, heart rate and weather can all sit on one face without crowding, which is why data-rich dials look at home here. It also takes a photo face almost uncropped, so a picture shot in portrait on a phone keeps its composition.

AMOLED lights each pixel on its own, and a black pixel is simply switched off. Dark faces therefore look deep and elegant and draw less power than a bright white background. On a watch rated for about a week of typical use between charges, a dark everyday face helps stretch that out.

1. Keep Wearfit Pro open on screen during the transfer. Phones pause background apps, and the transfer pauses with them.
2. Put the phone next to the watch, not in a bag across the room.
3. Check the watch has charge; some models refuse a new face on a low battery.
4. Close the app fully, reopen it and wait for the connected status before trying again.
5. Delete an old custom face or two if the watch stores a limited number.
6. Turn Bluetooth off and on, then reconnect from inside the app.

If the dial section shows faces that look the wrong shape, the app may have the wrong model on file. Unbinding the watch in the app and binding it again makes Wearfit Pro read the model fresh.

• Photo faces live on the watch, so a factory reset clears them.
• Keep the original picture in your gallery to rebuild the face in seconds.
